Grumpy Shark (2022)

Grumpy Shark is a delightful and meaningful children's story that dives deep into the importance of kindness, empathy, and inclusion.
Meet Grumpy Shark—a solitary sea dweller with a permanent frown and a habit of swimming alone. The other ocean creatures assume he just doesn’t want to be bothered, so they keep their distance. But what they don’t realize is that Grumpy Shark isn’t mean or unfriendly—he just doesn’t know how to join in! Beneath his scowling snout is a heart longing for connection, if only someone would reach out.
This charming and heartfelt book encourages young readers to look beyond first impressions and see the possibility of friendship in everyone—even those who seem grumpy, shy, or different. Growing up, I often felt left out, and I know firsthand how much a simple act of kindness can mean. Grumpy Shark is my way of inspiring children to be the ones who make a difference, who include others, and who remind us all that no one deserves to be left behind.
Through playful storytelling, vivid underwater adventures, and an important message of acceptance, Grumpy Shark is a splashy reminder that sometimes, all it takes is a friendly wave to turn a frown upside down!
